When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt overwhelmed by the treatment decisions and the path ahead. Although my cancer was caught early, I chose to undergo a double mastectomy. My breast surgeon recommended Dr. Symbas, and I am so grateful he did. After my first consultation with him, I knew I had made the right choice. He and his team were supportive, compassionate, and transparent about the risks and expected outcomes of my surgery. Over the next six months, every healthcare professional I spoke with regarding my upcoming procedures spoke highly of Dr. Symbas, which only reinforced my confidence in my decision to work with him. I am now three weeks post-op from a nipple-sparing bilateral mastectomy with direct-to-implant reconstruction and am healing very well.
